CareFest® News

CareFest is "Caretagious" and has found its way to the Caribbean!!

CareFest Puerto Rico is under way!!

I want to share with you what has been going on with Care Feast in PR. It is all very exciting! We have been getting churches to unite to begin blessing the community. Our first meeting we had about 15 people and about 7 churches represented. After that we began the process of identifying projects. We then had another meeting where we evaluated projects and choose 4.

The projects were:
  1. Helping a homeless pregnant women find a home and articles for her baby.
  2. A 65 yr. old woman who has both of her legs amputated and is blind needs a security gate in her home and her roof is made out of wood but needs more work.
  3. A single mother of 3 children need minor repairs in the home.
  4. A family of 4 live in a home that is extremely damaged. The roof has several leaks and the home only has 2 rooms. The husband has a cancerous tumor on his left leg and on his stomach. He has been discharged from the hospital with no further treatment. He is currently bed ridden. The family is a Christian family and they are believing in a miracle. They have a small business but because he can't work the wife is managing it. Their income is of about 600.00 a month.

After evaluating these projects we wanted to pick one where we can use it as a learning experience and we can integrate the churches. So we choose project # 4. This past Monday we has another meeting in this meeting we had about 15 churches represented. We all made an intervention plan. In this meeting we had pastors, church leaders, business men, contractor, architect, and many others. We decided to intervene. We have a contractor that will be donating his time to build this family a decent home.  Of course now we need to get the materials and we need volunteers (which we already have a couple), plus all the other things that we have to do complete this project.
